Sioen publishes Environmental Product Declarations of its Type II Tensile Architecture membrane. These are third party verified LCA results on a product or product range, following international standards. The calculation includes 15+ impact indicators, including the Global Warming Potential (GWP), commonly known as the carbon footprint.
The IBU (Institut Bauen und Umwelt e.V.) has recently published the EPD for our type II tensile Architecture membrane, which will remain valid until 18/04/2028.
An Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is a standardized and verified document that provides quantitative information about a product’s environmental and human health impact.
An EPD is produced on the basis of LCA calculations, which measure a product’s environmental footprint throughout its lifecycle - expressed in 15+ impact outcomes. Companies can create an EPD for a company-specific product or for the average product of members of a branch organization. The EPD must be verified by an independent expert, in this cas the IBU, before it gets accepted by a national programme operator and is valid for five years.
