Fluo2Max membrane covers the roof of the prestigious Cityland Mall in Dubai

Our Sioen Fluo2Max membrane was chosen to cover the roof of several pavilions that are part of the prestigious and innovative Cityland Mall in Dubai. The mall is the world’s first 111 484 m2 nature-inspired retail and entertainment destination. It was awarded ‘The Best Commercial Project’ of 2019 at The Arabian Business Real Estate Awards.
The Fluo2Max membrane was selected thanks to its great solar management properties, its energy efficiency and its uniform translucency. This highly qualitative range is designed with our TiO2 prime coating barrier, resulting in an outstanding UV resistance. In addition, thanks to the Fluomax PVDF top coat all UV radiation is blocked, which is perfect for the hot weather conditions in Dubai.
Further, the double membrane structure increases the construction’s energy-efficiency. For the external layer, the stronger Fluo2Max Type 3 membrane was used and for the interior layer the Fluo2Max Type 1 membranes.
This innovative, durable and premium mall is a Cityland Group project. They are known for creating the world’s largest flower garden, the Dubai Miracle Garden. The mall is designed by Bayaty Architects, a design and manufacturing firm based in Abu Dhabi.
The Cityland Mall is a distinguished and unique project housing more than 350 stores, 75 restaurants and bars, 12 cinema screens and a colourful elegant 18 500 m² park area. This single-level mall has a circular design that allows for continuous customer flow. Retail is combined with ecological preservation, sustainable design and interaction with nature. The garden includes a Japanese garden, a children’s amphitheatre, amongst others.
